Oakland Mills community meeting with HCPD. Police will present an overview of activity in Oakland Mills including crime statistics and issues directly relating to our community.

The one-hour meeting will include a presentation from HCPD followed by an audience Q & A.

(Please note that the Police will not be addressing issues related to specific cases, individuals, or disclose any information that could jeopardize an ongoing investigation.)

OM/HCPD meeting is sponsored by the Oakland Mills Board of Directors and the OM Safety and Security Committee.

Lively Arts for Little Ones Presents Chris Campbell – Music for Kids @ The Other Barn

Chris Campbell’s educational and lesson-oriented songs in a given show may cover anything from the alphabet, numbers, shapes, colors, animals, and cleaning up messes, to the US Presidents, the 50 states, exercise, confidence, and dealing with bullies.  Additionally, his witty entertainment tunes may cover anything from birthdays, beach trips, bedroom rules, and baseball, to stuffed animals, neighborhood friends, superheroes, family sing-a-longs, and the crazy schedule of kids’ activities (to name a few).

Narcan (Naloxone) Training

What is naloxone?

It is a prescription medicine that reverses an opioid overdose. It cannot be used to get high and is not addictive. Naloxone is safe and effective; emergency medical professionals and doctors have used it for decades.

How does naloxone help?

Opioids can slow or stop a person’s breathing, which causes death. Naloxone can help reverse an opioid overdose.

What will training participants learn?

Types of opioids (heroin and pain medication)
How to recognize, respond, and prevent an opioid overdose
Including how to administer intra-nasal naloxone
Rights & responsibilities for those who choose to receive a
prescription for naloxone
Resources for you, family members, friends & loved ones
